Acceptance of any contribution, gift or grant is at the discretion of the The Hawkins Foundation. The The Hawkins Foundation will not accept any gift unless it can be used or expended consistently with the purpose and mission of the The Hawkins Foundation.

No irrevocable gift, whether outright or life-income in character, will be accepted if under any reasonable set of circumstances the gift would jeopardize the donor’s financial security.

The The Hawkins Foundation will refrain from providing advice about the tax or other treatment of gifts and will encourage donors to seek guidance from their own professional advisers to assist them in the process of making their donation.

The The Hawkins Foundation will accept donations of cash or publicly traded securities. Gifts of in-kind services will be accepted at the discretion of the The Hawkins Foundation.

Certain other gifts, real property, personal property, in-kind gifts, non-liquid securities, and contributions whose sources are not transparent or whose use is restricted in some manner, must be reviewed prior to acceptance due to the special obligations raised or liabilities they may pose for The Hawkins Foundation.

The The Hawkins Foundation will provide acknowledgments to donors meeting tax requirements for property received by the charity as a gift. However, except for gifts of cash and publicly traded securities, no value shall be ascribed to any receipt or other form of substantiation of a gift received by The Hawkins Foundation.

The The Hawkins Foundation will respect the intent of the donor relating to gifts for restricted purposes and those relating to the desire to remain anonymous. With respect to anonymous gifts, the The Hawkins Foundation will restrict information about the donor to only those staff members with a need to know.

The The Hawkins Foundation will not compensate, whether through commissions, finders' fees, or other means, any third party for directing a gift or a donor to the The Hawkins Foundation.

The Hawkins Foundation

The Hawkins Foundation was established in June of 2015 by Donald K. Hawkins, whose mother, Lula B. Hawkins passed away at a young age due to Leukemia.

My life’s once idle journey, at my earliest recollection, began at the age of three. My spiritual transformation, the renewing of my mind, body, and soul has become the reason and motivation for the establishment of the Hawkins’ Foundation. The Hawkins Foundation is founded on the guiding principles according to the doctrine of Christianity and my divine purpose and leadership strengths in Exhortation.

Often times, my lonely journey traveled tumultuous roads coupled with trials and tribulations, which became secularly familiar coupled with all too common experiences, which occurred during my early child and young adulthood.

I could not explain the ever-present secret void in my heart, which longed for an understanding relative to the “why” my mother, whom I deeply loved left me alone and vulnerable in a world that was eager to negatively consume me both mentally and physically into my adulthood.

Seemingly, having no other roads left untraveled; the secret void since my childhood still held me emotionally void and deficient. It was only through the divine intervention of the Holy Spirit that I began my spiritual foundation, which speaks volumes to the person whom I have become, today
As I hungered for the living bread and thirsted for the water of life; I grew nearer to my Lord and Savior. It became abundantly clear to myself seeking wisdom and understanding as I express my gratitude towards my Savior. I began reading and reverently seeking knowledge to bring me closer and closer in my relationship and actions with the one who rescued me from the mighty ills of the carnal world. With humility, I was sustained through grace and God’s unmerited mercy. I am compelled and fill with a passion driven to support, foster, and empower others whose journey is like mine prior to my established relationship or potentially on the verge of becoming like mine after experiencing the loss of a parent. At the core of the Hawkins Foundation, my writings, intentional and purposeful speaking and the sharing of my personal testimony are the core of the Hawkins Foundation.

The best way to effect change in a person is to bring awareness toward the collective integration and reshaping of one’s mind, body, and soul. I humbly say to you that my life has been forever changed. I personally encourage you to read my first book titled: My Life According To the Promise.
